i’m writing this blog for you.
both because i need to and because you need me to.
passion: it lies in all of us, sleeping… waiting… and though unwanted… unbidden… it will stir… open its jaws and howl. it speaks to us… guides us… passion rules us all, and we obey. what other choice do we have? passion is the source of our finest moments. the joy of love… the clarity of hatred… and the ecstasy of grief. it hurts sometimes more than we can bare. if we could live without passion maybe we’d know some kind of peace… but we would be hollow… empty rooms shuttered and dank. without passion we’d be truly dead.

so the goal was to post a blog on 1/1/11. i hadn’t written a thing since october and had this grand plan to just recap my year with this really well written blog describing the many moments that helped to form what was probably the best year of my life, or close to it. unfortunately at about 11:50pm i realized i just didn’t like what was being written and i realized i just didn’t want to play catch up. so with that in mind…i’m just going to go forward….from here.
life
is
amazing!
this year is only a week in and already the most fantastic changes have happened! as i promised myself (and kahleem and reggie), with school being out i would be focusing mostly on photography and the filming/writing projects that we tend to get into. after all, my schedule was free and conflicts were essentially wiped out. so within the time between completing school and me sitting down to type this up… i’ve had three photo shoots, shot large portions of a short film for a contest, plotted two separate photo series i want to start working on and, and got myself a foothold into popular science magazine!
this year is only a week in.
beyond that, one of the photo shoots seems to be getting quite a bit of attention. largely due to a short film kahleem made surrounding the shoot and of course because of the chemistry the model (destiney davila) had with my camera. not only did it make it to the front of a pretty popular dSLR blog site (Planet 5D), but it is also being viewed around the fashion circuit often.
so already i realize this year is going to be hectic. i’m already exhausted but i have no choice other than to keep on doing what i’m doing and hoping things are going to fall in an orderly manner…a huge thank you to the team (in alphabetic order):
- kahleem poole
- reginald hines
- risa robins-moloney
this is our year people!
